A practical checklist for planning an Aledo artificial turf project, from site use and drainage to product selection and written scope.
Define the purpose and project limits
Decide exactly which areas should become turf and how each will be used. Include furniture, play equipment, pets, putting features, pathways and future landscape plans.
Clear project limits help the installer measure accurately and plan edges, seams and transitions before materials are ordered.
Document drainage and access
Watch the yard after rain and note low spots, downspout discharge and soft areas. Also identify the route crews and materials can use to reach the project.
Drainage needs and restricted access can change preparation, equipment and labor. Addressing them during the estimate creates a more complete scope.
Select materials by application
Landscape turf, pet turf, play areas and putting greens have different requirements. Ask how the specified turf, backing and infill support the intended use.
For mixed-use yards, one product may not be ideal everywhere. Separate zones can sometimes produce a better result.
